Liam Thompson is an artist and tutor painting and teaching both watercolour and oil. He studied at Newcastle upon Tyne College of Art and Design Chelsea School of Art and the City and Guilds of London Art School.

He has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions in London over three decades. His work has been shown at The Royal Watercolour Society Open Exhibitions The Mall Galleries Royal Glasgow Institute and in group exhibitions and Galleries in Belfast and Dublin.

He won the Royal Watercolour Society's Young Watercolorist Award' and the R.W.S. travel award. He was commissioned to paint for the National Trust and was exhibited with the National Trust Foundation for Art exhibition at Agnews Gallery in London. Limited edition prints made from watercolours of National Trust Properties in the South East region are in private collections around the world.

Liam is a figurative artist who's work is made in three ways - Painting on location painting begun on location and completed in the studio and painting made in the studio. In recent years he has made several trips to Venice. Painting on location there making paintings of The patina of dilapidation' in that city. Liam lives and works near Canterbury Kent.
